Marcelle Dominique Versteeg - Cella Marcy - is a visual artist and illustrator based in Cape Town, South Africa. Since graduating from North-West University in Potchefstroom with a BA in Graphic Design, Marcy spent six years working and travelling across Southeast Asia as an EFL teacher, illustrator and graphic designer. Her work during this time included a series of mural commissions in Sri Lanka and culminated in a collection of prints that continue to be sold at Collective Memory in Hanoi, Vietnam. Marcy comes to her art practice with an interest in world-making, taking into account the legacies of consumption, commerce, culture, language and mythology.
